Genetically-modified (GM) food is a crop whose DNA has been changed. It is becoming more important as the population increases. It has two advantages over regular food. One advantage of GM food is its ability to resist pests. Consumers do not wish to eat crops that have been treated with pesticides. For example, Bt corn is naturally resistant to insects. Therefore, no pesticides are needed. Also, GM food is more nutritious. Many crops do not contain all the nutrients a person needs. They can be genetically-modified to contain all essential nutrients. For example, rice lacks many of the necessary nutrients. It can be modified to include important nutrients such as Vitamin B and proteins.
Bt corn: field corn that has received a gene transferred from a naturally occurring soil bacterium called Bacillas thuringiensis.

新書入手已經有幾天了，特地仔細研讀之后才來評價，身邊的同學，朋友也都在用，都覺得是物超所值。寫作考試難度還是有的，我的建議的希望大家能先把托福相關的單詞掌握好，因為畢竟寫作上要求比較嚴，寫出一篇好文章，要有好的文筆才行。本書在攻克重點句型的上面下足了功夫，因為畢竟托福寫作考試有些句子還是比較通用的。本書還配光盤，很值得購買。
