Lyle Bachman生于1944年，27歲時獲得印第安納大學文學博士學位，論文研究方向為二語習得。他曾在夏威夷大學、伊利諾伊大學香檳分校、加州大學洛杉磯分校等大學任教。Bachman教授曾擔任美國應用語言學會(AAAL)以及國際語言測試協會(ILTA)會長。在國際語言測試界乃至整個應用語言學領域享有極高聲望。2004年，國際語言測試協會授予他終身成就獎。Adrian Palmer生于1940年，31歲獲密歇根大學語言學博士學位，任猶他大學副教授。Palmer有相當豐富的教學經歷和極高的語言天賦，能熟練使用波斯語、法語、德語，通曉泰語和西班牙語。
